I'm currently in La Jolla, CA helping with a new musical, Hoover Comes Alive! I'm here as the assistant to the composer, Michael Friedman.
It's been an interesting week so far. A lot of sitting and observing. I try anyway. When your only responsibility is to observe in a 10 hour rehearsal it gets kind of boring. No ones fault, and that's why I'm here.
I did have a great opportunity to sit in on a post rehearsal meeting where the creative team sat with the Administrative staff to discuss the project. It was fascinating the questions they posed.
It was helpful for my writing and for the first time this week I really felt like I was hearing "something I came to hear." Whatever that means.
If you're in the La Jolla area this week come on down and see the show. Floor seats are only $5.
